Following his graduation from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree, Bernie centered his sights on developing business opportunities. From humble business origins as a restaurant general manager for Pizza Hut of America in Pittsburgh, he quickly gained a reputation for his ability to apply vision and leadership in expanding business operations. Bernie continued working with Pizza Hut of America until 1999 as the Vice President/General Manager of the chain’s Express division. With his leadership and vision, Bernie was able to increase cash flow dramatically by restructuring chain operations; adding 1200 new units to the division netted an additional $18 million in cash flow.
